Roots + Douglas Coupland
THE CHALLENGE
To showcase the results of a collaboration between iconic Canadian clothing brand Roots and author and culturalist Douglas Coupland, we created this site in conjunction with the Farstar Agency of Frisco, Texas.
THE Approach
The immersive, digital experience maps a dynamic connection between the clothing Coupland designed and the style of the Roots brand, catapulting both into a brave, new world. The site featured links to several social networks, including the Roots YouTube Channel, Douglas Coupland personal Twitter account and several other sites. It also included a full-size downloadable one sheet for visitors of the site as a takeaway.
THE Solution
This Webby Award nominated site shows that when the idea comes first, execution can surpass all expectations. Coupland and Roots set out to create something unlike the world had ever seen – our immersive, kinetic, social experience had the same aspirations.
